The 29th annual Public Safety Youth Fishing Derby was held last Thursday. The Muskegon Police Department, Muskegon Fire Department, Muskegon Township Police Department, and Michigan DNR spent the afternoon fishing and engaging with area youth, awarding the derby winners, and giving away numerous door prizes. The goal of the derby is to bring youth and public safety officials together for a positive activity and help build relationships. Great job to the following derby winners: 

8 Year Olds

-1st Place – Lorenzo Sustaita (biggest fish overall at 15″)

-2nd Place – Avery Woirol

-3rd Place – Monroe Kelly

9 Year Olds

-1st Place – Meier Thompson

-2nd Place – Skyler Foster

-3rd Place – Lucian Davis

10 Year Olds

-1st Place – Kade Mueller

-2nd Place – Aidan Ward

-3rd Place – Gavin Woirol

11 Year Olds

-1st Place – Nolan Montgomery

-2nd Place – Ryan VanAelst

-3rd Place – Janaii Smith

12 Year Olds

-1st Place – Bradley VanAelst

-2nd Place – Reed Cutler

-3rd Place – Jaili Duff
