Mona Shores Public School District issued the following announcement on Jan 19.

If you have a child that will be 5 years old on or before September 1, it is time to begin preparing for your child’s first day of Kindergarten!

All Mona Shores elementary buildings will be hosting a Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 6:00 pm.  At the Kindergarten Roundup, which is only for parents and guardians, you will meet building staff and receive a presentation and overview of kindergarten curriculum, expectations, and schedule, as well as information about food service, transportation and the assessment process, and how to prepare your child for a great kindergarten experience!
Please follow these steps before the Kindergarten Roundup:

STEP 1:  Complete the online registration form at monashores.net/parents/student-enrollment/

STEP 2:  Gather these required documents:
-birth certificate
-current immunization record or waiver
-proof of residency (see the Residency Verification checklist for required/acceptable documents)
-proof of a hearing & vision screening
-proof of a dental assessment

STEP 3:  Take your documents to your elementary building office to complete the process:
We will make copies of your documents.
We will provide an enrollment packet to complete (which takes about 15 minutes to complete).
You must visit the office to complete the process.  Our staff will not know that you have submitted the online form and will not contact you.

Please complete the above enrollment process by Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Non Residents – Schools of Choice (SOC)

If you do not live within the district boundaries, you must apply for the Schools of Choice program (not available until May) and receive a Letter of Acceptance (mailed in July) before you are eligible to enroll your child.  Please go to our Schools of Choice page for more information or call 231-780-4751.  The online registration form linked above is not the Schools of Choice application.

If you have questions, you may contact your elementary building (see attached contact info).
