Friends of Greg Vanwoerkom spent the most out of all the political committees based in cities associated with Muskegon County during June, 2021, according to the Michigan Department of State.
The committee paid $132 to three vendors.
The largest expense was $12 paid to PNC Bank based in Norton Shores for bank fee.
The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Muskegon County during the month came from Sabo for Michigan. It spent $100 during that period on one vendor.
What’s known as “dark money,” which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer outspent her opponents by a wide margin, spending nearly $600,000 more than the second-highest spending candidate.
