Ms. Tiffany’s class discussed Earth Day and enjoyed a nature walk around the school. On our walk, we talked to some 9th graders doing soil investigations, picked up trash and some cool pinecones, sticks, rocks, and leaves. We discussed buds on trees and the thermal differences in rock/concrete vs metal bleachers. We also tallied how many birds, bugs, trees etc we observed and used that data to complete a graph of our findings.

Our nature walk tied in with our Science lesson this afternoon. We got some scientific tools out like beakers, magnifying glasses, and a microscope. We used the tools to make observations about our nature walk findings.

I’d say it was a good day at Holton Elementary!
