Secure Education Consultants (SEC)

Today was another great day of school across the District! In addition to all of the planning that has gone into the start of the new school year, the District continues to be committed to the safety and well being of our students and staff. That is why we have partnered with the Fruitport Township Police, local law enforcement officials, and Secure Education Consultants (SEC) to conduct safety and threat assessments at each of our buildings in the District.

In the next few weeks, SEC will complete comprehensive site assessments that will include a full examination of each building, its practical functions, and its surroundings to evaluate whether the current measures in place are appropriate for the risk environment and consistent with best practices. This custom approach will ensure that we implement the best possible safety plan we can for students and staff through the critical examination of all aspects of our safety plan by leading experts in the field.

All site assessments are led by highly skilled safety and security experts, in partnership with our local law enforcement officials. The SEC team boasts hundreds of years of security expertise at the highest levels as former U.S. Secret Service agents, Homeland Security agents, FBI agents, as well as high-ranking police officers. Importantly, the expert instructors at SEC are parents and are passionate about keeping kids safe. While more information will be shared in the upcoming months, please know that Fruitport Community Schools seeks to be a leader in the work that we do to keep students and staff safe at school. Thank you for choosing Fruitport Community Schools!
