The team will relax you and relieve your stress. East of Eden, 103 W. Clay, is a natural, holistic health center offering message, foot treatments, flotation, halo dry salt treatments, and most recently sun-lightened infrared sauna. Jodi, a licensed massage therapist with a certificate and degree from Muskegon Community College, has gone from a one-woman massage practice with East of Eden Emporium to a wellness center with a staff of five and four contract massage therapists. She moved her business from Apple Avenue to downtown Muskegon in 2017. Beyond massage, East of Eden began branching out with ionic foot detoxes and has four treatment chairs that draw toxins out of the body through the feet. From foot treatments, East of Eden really took off as a wellness center with its two salt floatation tanks and one floatation tub where clients float on 10-inches of dense salt water for an hour of relaxation. Halo dry salt therapy provides salt-air treatments for raspatory relief and relaxation. The latest treatment is the infrared sauna providing the body balance treatment for up to 45 minutes. Jodi said that East of Eden is working on introducing Muskegon to new cutting-edge wellness treatments. Salt therapy begins at $15, sauna’s $30, foot treatments $39 and floatation $79. East of Eden offers four-hour packages of treatments and discount memberships for multiple treatment visits. East of Eden has options for couples. The wellness spa center has discount programs for frontline workers – veterans, fire and police officers, social workers, postal workers, nurses, emergency technicians and doctors.
East of Eden opens Monday-Saturday at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m., except Wednesdays and Saturdays closing at 5 p.m.
