Pure Michigan Business Connect has helped companies throughout Michigan shift production to support the statewide response to COVID-19, while connecting suppliers of PPE and other critical supplies with those who need them the most.
When creating an economic development strategy, states integrate various tools to help diversify the economy, support existing businesses and build a competitive workforce. The goal is to foster an environment that supports high-quality jobs, increases demand for labor and improves residents’ quality of life.
States prioritize economic development tools in various ways that are often influenced by history. If you traced Michigan’s lineage, you’ll see that it is steeped in innovation, manufacturing and a skilled workforce. These traits have allowed the state to grow new industries, diversify and build up existing business.
