City of Muskegon issued the following announcement on June 1.
A very peaceful gathering was held at the Muskegon County Building. We feel your same frustration over recent circumstances. Muskegon, we came together today and demonstrated in a very peaceful manner the need for change.
There has been so much misinformation put out. There have been claims that the gathering was not peaceful, there are claims the mayor made a statement that are completely false and the rumors continue.

It was a great day, but now is time to go home and reflect on the day’s events. Stay home and stay safe tonight.
