This is a monthly support group specifically for individuals who have attempted suicide (ages 18+). This group is led by 2 peer facilitators, both of whom are suicide attempt survivors, one of whom is a licensed mental health clinician. Walk-ins and Referrals are welcome. For more information, call / text / email us at (231)769-2679 or spcmuskegon@gmail.com . :::::::::: MORE INFO :::::::::: If you have attempted suicide at any point in your past, but have never felt like you had a safe, judgment free place to talk openly, please consider joining us. :: It is estimated that for every 1 death by suicide, there are 25 suicide attempts. The vast majority of people who survive an attempt do NOT die by suicide, but go on to live meaningful lives. :: Many, but not all, suicide attempts result in receiving treatment via psychiatric hospitalization and/or outpatient treatment. While some survivors of suicide attempt also require physical/medical care due to injury, others may have survived without anyone ever knowing they attempted. :: A common factor, however, is that due to stigma, shame, guilt, and often fear of discrimination, suicide attempts are frequently kept secret. This can lead to feelings of isolation, and make it difficult to get future support. :: All survivors of suicide attempt, including aborted and interrupted attempts, are welcome at our support group. We are a welcoming and diverse group, and we are grateful you are here. You are not alone.
