This is the 9th update on the General Election. Since our update on October 22nd, we have issued 255 more absentee ballots for a total of 9,061 absentee ballots. Of those, 75.28% (6,821 ballots) have been returned.
The Muskegon Votes trailer will be out tomorrow at Community EnCompass and Hartford Terrace. The schedule can be found on www.muskegonvotes.com.
We have 2,240 absentee ballots to be returned. We recommend not using the postal service at this time but use our drop box by the Treasurer's Office just inside the doors (open 24/7), the drop box inside at the City Clerk's Office, or the drive-up drop box by the Police Department across from US 31 BBQ. Please return those ballots to us ASAP.
120 plus voters took advantage of voting in-person today at the Clerk's Office and submitted their ballot to be counted on November 3rd. This is a great option to be reassured your ballot is returned on time. We open at 8:30 am each day this week.
The number one question we are receiving from voters is - With the number of COVID cases increasing, I no longer feel comfortable voting at the polls. Is it too late to get an absentee ballot? Answer - NO, it's not too late! The quickest way to obtain a ballot is voting/picking up a ballot in person at City Hall. If you are unable to come inside, please call our office at 231-724-6705 and we will bring all the paperwork to your car.
Eight days and counting...
