The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) recently announced that it has suspended the liquor licenses of three restaurants/bars for violating the state’s COVID-19 regulations, according to Michigan Capitol Confidential.
According to a state press release, violations by the businesses included failure to require staff and patrons to wear face coverings and failure to prohibit patrons from congregating.
“The MLCC’s Enforcement Division, on behalf of the Commission, investigates all complaints relative to allegations of violations of the code, rules and executive orders, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic,” the state press release said, reported by Michigan Capitol Confidential.
The three businesses are located in Lakeview, Houghton and St. Joseph.
Michigan is encouraging residents to report businesses for "suspected noncompliance" of state orders and file complaints online.
The state had previously fined or suspended the liquor licenses of several other businesses for COVID-19 violations, according to a Nov. 25 report by Michigan Capitol Confidential.
