October National Principals Month

Ty

County of Muskegon recently issued the following announcement.

Dear parents, guardians, and families:

During the month of October, school communities nationwide join together in celebration of National Principals Month, recognizing and honoring school leaders for their hard work, tireless effort, and unrelenting commitment to their students, staff and school communities. Becoming an effective school leader goes well beyond the enforcement of rules, procedures, and routines. In fact, school leaders influence and guide many areas within the school setting. Some of these tasks include, but are not limited to:

* Creating a vision of academic success for students

* Promoting a climate that’s conducive to learning

* Fostering leadership qualities in others

* Managing and leading data, processes, and personnel

The work of our school leaders often goes unnoticed. It is important to recognize the significant role that our educational leaders play in the success of our teachers, staff, and students. Here are three simple things that you can do to support our principals, assistant principals, and educational leaders:

1. Write a personal thank you note or message to your child’s school leader.

2. Post a positive thank you message on social media or give your child’s school leader a shoutout.

3. Simply say, “thank you.”

Especially during the past few challenging school years, the commitment and devotion of our school leaders to the school and community have been keys to the long-term success of our students. Please join me in thanking our entire administrative team, including our principals and assistant principals, for the work that they do to ensure the success of all students in recognition of October as National Principals Month!

Respectfully,

Jason J. Kennedy

Superintendent
