City of North Muskegon issued the following announcement on Mar 22.
In mid-February, the city was notified that our bagged/canned yard waste provider RMS was sold, and that their services would no longer be provided. Staff acted quickly and
issued a request for proposals to continue this city-wide program. We are happy to announce that Kuerth’s Disposal will be providing bagged/canned yard waste moving forward, but with this change there will come some amendments to the service.
Begin Service: April 11, 202211
• There will now be two (2) pickup days with Second St. as the dividing line
• Monday District (east side of city to Second St.)
• Tuesday District (west side of city to Second St.)
• Yard waste bags and cans/containers are limited to 40 lbs. in weight
• Personal cans/containers must have exterior handles and be without a lid
• Twigs and limbs must be tied into bundles no larger than 2’ x 4’, with a max limb diameter of ½-inches
• Yard waste bags/containers will not be picked up in alleys
• Items not collected: soil, sod, gravel, rocks, stumps, logs, or brush
End Service: December 5, 2022
City staff will continue to provide brush pickup. Contractors, you may hire, remain responsible for the removal of brush, debris, etc.
For the first year, there will be some growing pains, but we remain in frequent contact with Kuerth’s Disposal on methods to provide this service to you at the best value.
