We all enjoy a day of fun in the sun, jumping waves, and swimming. But, unfortunately, our Great Lakes can be hazardous too.
Before you venture into the water, check the hazard level.

A beach hazard is in effect from late tonight, August 2, 2022, through late Wednesday night.
* WHAT...High wave action, strong currents, and dangerous swimming conditions are expected. Piers may be heavily swamped by waves.
* WHERE...Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, and Van Buren counties.
* WHEN...From late tonight through late Wednesday night.
* IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Breezy winds from the south-southwest on Wednesday will make beaches near south piers especially dangerous. Thunderstorms are also possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
