Small Business Saturday - Trophy House

Small Business Saturday: Over the years, Trophy House has consolidated several iconic Muskegon companies in a sporting goods, sportswear and promotional business to create a retail and production facility at 2330 Henry.

Trophy House is one of RC Production’s companies founded by Randy Crow. Other RC Productions businesses include RCP Marketing and Source One Digital. Trophy House is in its 60th year and began when original owner Jon Caughey and his mother began making trophies in his Lakeside home. Today, the company includes the former operations of Jones Sporting Goods, Lindback Distributing and The Gear Group. Carly Crow is president of Trophy House and Shan Bonjernoor vice president of the women-led business. Trophy House Brands has evolved into a full-service decorator serving corporate customers with decorated apparel and promotional products. The company continues its longstanding relationships with local high school athletic departments providing equipment, uniforms and fan apparel for the schools, and youth sports programs. And of course, Trophy House has a full line of trophies, plaques and awards for employee recognition to athletic tournaments.

Walk in to Trophy House’s retail shop and you’ll only see a small portion of the more than 24,000 square-foot production facility that has departments for embroidery, screen printing, heat press, digital printing and engraving. Trophy House has a team of 35 employees. On any given day, the company could produce thousands of clothing items that are sold on site or routinely delivered to corporate and school clients throughout the United States. The company is part of a national sports buying group of independent retailers so as to compete against national outlets, Carly said. Trophy House is more than a T-shirt and hoodie outlet as uniforms and equipment are available for football to lacrosse and volleyball. Specific industry promotional items serve hospitality, healthcare, construction and manufacturing. Clients are able to set up their own online stores through Trophy House to enable employees to shop for company apparel online. The retail store is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The company’s website is www.trophyhousebrands.com. The City of Muskegon’s Development Services Division highlights the city’s small businesses on Saturday mornings.
