Small Business Saturday (UPDATE): The City of Muskegon had featured Her & His Uniforms and then Trophy House Brands in this space in the past three months.

Now these two successful Muskegon businesses have joined forces to create more than 100 years of retailing experience. TH Brands purchased Her & His Uniforms from owners Anne and Dave Bolen in January after the longtime downtown uniform outlet was put up for sale as the Bolen’s retire after 42 years in business. In the past few weeks, the transfer of the Her & His Uniforms from 754 Pine Street to the Trophy House operations at 2330 Henry Street in the city was complete.

The two owners began exploring the purchase at the suggestion of the city’s Development Services Division. “Anne and I had any easy transition … it just felt good,” said TH Brands President Carly Crow. “We are so excited that this uniform business stays local. It was an organic transition.” Although missing her loyal clientele, Anne said she is confident that Trophy House will take her business to the next level, especially as it relates to online sales. In the meantime, the Bolen’s continue to own and manage their retail building at the corner of Pine Street and Western Avenue. A local vintage clothing retailer anticipates leasing the 754 Pine space and relocating downtown in April, Anne said.

The new retailer will fit in with a growing number of vintage retailers and antique shops in the Pine Street business district. Carly said that the combination of the two businesses brings a new set of customers to TH Brands for its sportswear, team apparel and promotional marketing items including trophies and engraving services. Her & His Uniforms has become a significant outlet in the TH Brand business, providing continued uniform tops, pants, shoes and jackets for the medical and culinary industries. Besides taking the uniform business to the digital world, Carly said Her & His will expand into police, fire and public service agency uniforms in the future. “This was just a good fit. Carly and her team have such energy and ideas to take my business to a new level,” Anne said.

The TH Brands retail store is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The company’s website is www.trophyhousebrands.com
