Legislation that would fund outdoor recreation in the 34th District was introduced by Michigan Sen. Jon Bumstead (R-Newaygo), according to a press release from MiSenateGOP.
The legislation would fund multiple Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund projects in the state. It will provide a resource for outdoor recreation and the acquisition of lands for recreation.
“West Michigan is home to some of the state’s most beautiful and abundant natural resources,” Bumstead said, according to MiSenateGOP. “As an avid outdoorsman, it brings me great joy to see these wonderful opportunities for Michigan residents to enjoy the outdoors, and I will continue to support measures that allow Michiganders to get out and enjoy some fresh air.”

Improvements to the Dragon Trail in Newaygo County will be funded through the legislation, in addition to increased access to Spring Lake. Mecosta County will also receive funds to make recreation improvements.
“As chair of the Senate Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee, I look forward to continuing these funding efforts that exemplify the recreational opportunities our state has to offer,” Bumstead told MiSenateGOP.
