Rep. Greg VanWoerkom (R-Norton Shores) recently highlighted the option on his Facebook page for Michigan residents to schedule a telephone appointment with the Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA).
"You can now schedule a telephone appointment with the Unemployment Insurance Agency if you are having difficulty with your UIA claim," Rep. VanWoerkom wrote on Facebook. Visit Michigan.gov to schedule an appointment.
The UIA began offering this option on October 21, according to Michigan.gov.

“We’re excited to offer this additional option for customer service,” said UIA Director Steve Gray, according to Michigan.gov. “This new scheduling system is another tool to help us ensure continued service to Michigan’s residents who are facing unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic."
After the resident calls the number to make an appointment, a customer service agent will call them back on the designated day and time they choose.
Residents can make an appointment by calling 866-500-0017. You should have your Social Security number and driver’s license/ID number handy when you call.
