Michigan officials have been blaming the ever-increasing spread of COVID-19 on the actions of residents.
Robert Gordon, director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), accused Michiganders of causing the proliferation of COVID-19. He says residents aren't being considerate of the health protocols and lockdowns that have been imposed by the state.
Gordon recently extended a lockdown that restricts restaurants and bars from allowing citizens to eat indoors until at least Sunday, December 20.
“Because COVID is everywhere in our state and because sadly... we still have a lot of folks who are... we’re not doing all the things we need to do.... If we are all doing those things, we will get the virus under control,” Gordon said on the radio program "Michigan's Big Show." “But we’re doing these things partly, not all the way, so the virus continues to spread.”
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Gordon and other state officials have repeatedly blamed Michiganders who they insist are not following state orders, such as mask wearing, social distancing and respecting indoor gathering limits.
