Norton Shores Fire Department issued the following announcement on Mar 3.
On March 2, 2022, members of Blue Shift conducted a training scenario at Lake Harbor Park.
During this training exercise, crews discussed rescue techniques and what they would do given the following problem:
9-1-1 receives a call from an individual approximately 500 yards back in the dunes. The caller is unable to walk due to a leg injury.
One of the many pieces of equipment our department has is called a Stokes Basket. Our patient was located, packaged, and carried out successfully.
Green and Red Shifts will complete the same training on March 5 - 8, 2022
