Michigan Sen. Jon Bumstead (R-Newaygo) is releasing newsletters to keep the state up-to-date on changes and any new information that should be shared during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bumstead will continue to work with his administration to keep the state's residents updated on the latest information that seems to be constantly changing.

The newsletter states that in the coming weeks there are going to be more cases in Michigan as the peak comes through the country. During this time, businesses will continue to be closed, which will not only impact families on a personal level, but also financially. Bumstead went on to remind constituents that everyone in the state is feeling the impacts of the virus outbreak.

With the large economic impact that the COVID-19 situation has caused, the state budget will also be affected, causing the Legislature to have to make very difficult cuts and decisions in the coming months and years. Concessions have already been made to help reduce the impact of these budgets that are affected.

Bumstead's office is open remotely to help assist and answer any questions that residents may have. SenJBumstead@senate.michigan.gov is the senator's email address, and the office phone number is 1-855-347-8034.
