Sen. Jon Bumstead (R-Newaygo) recently showed his support for local law enforcement by honoring officers in three counties.
Bumstead has a track record of honoring law enforcement in his local area and around the nation.
"Last week, I had the opportunity to recognize law enforcement departments throughout Muskegon, Newaygo and Oceana counties by delivering a tribute honoring their work protecting the cities, villages, townships and communities they serve," the Facebook post reads. "Law enforcement officers often deal with tough and life-threatening situations, but excellent police officers are strongly motivated by a commitment to protecting the safety of others. Delivering a tribute to each police department is a small token of gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices that our local law enforcement makes to protect our communities."

Bumstead also recently honored a fallen marine by announcing a highway named in his honor on July 9.
"The Michigan Legislature recently gave final approval to legislation to create the Pfc. Brett Witteveen Memorial Highway, and now the governor has signed the bill into law as Public Act 139 of 2020," the Facebook post reads.
